Fisch Beginner Guide: Fishing, Rods and Selling

Last checked: 2026-10-28 · PlayCode Hub

Fisch is a slow, relaxing fishing game with a lot of depth underneath it. Learn the catch loop first, then worry about rare fish, better rods and new islands.

How fishing works

Cast your line, wait for a bite, then complete the catch minigame. The bar and timing take a few tries to learn, so practise on common fish near the starting area before you spend money on an expensive rod. Watch the bite indicator closely. Rushing the catch usually loses the fish, while a calm, steady approach keeps the fish in the catch zone longer.

Your first session

  1. Start with the rod you already own and fish near the starting island.
  2. Sell your catch regularly instead of carrying a full inventory for a long time.
  3. Use your first earnings on a modest rod upgrade, not on cosmetics.
  4. Try different spots on the same island before you pay to travel elsewhere.
  5. Check the Fisch codes page for any free rewards you can claim.

Rods, bait and selling

A better rod usually helps with rarer fish, longer casts or faster lure speed, but it does not replace learning the minigame. Bait and lures change what you are likely to catch, so experiment with cheap options first and note what works at each spot. Selling is the core income loop: fish have different values, rarer fish sell for more, and some fish are better kept for quests or collections. Sell duplicates early on, and keep anything a quest asks for.

Quests, events and islands

Quests and limited-time events give rewards you cannot get from normal fishing alone, including cash, items and event rewards. Do the quests available at your level before you travel far for rare fish. New islands usually bring new fish, new rods and new quests, so progress naturally from one island to the next instead of rushing to the newest area with weak gear.

Mistakes new players make

  • Spending early cash on cosmetics instead of a rod upgrade.
  • Fishing in one spot for hours without trying quests or other spots.
  • Ignoring the catch minigame and blaming the rod.
  • Forgetting to sell before the inventory fills up.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best first rod upgrade?

The best upgrade is a modest one you can afford without emptying your cash. A slightly better rod you use a lot beats an expensive rod you cannot afford to keep using.

Do I need bait to catch rare fish?

Bait helps, but location, rod and the catch minigame matter more. Try cheap bait first and learn a spot before spending heavily.

How do I unlock new islands?

By progressing, earning cash and following quests. Travel when you can afford it and when your gear can handle the fish there.
